Many SEO (search engine optimisation) savvy people get caught up with measuring Google pagerank. It was once thought to be an important key in establishing high Google rankings. I prefer to interpret Pagerank as an indicator of Google’s perception of a pages authority within the web. I recommend focusing on overall SEO strategy and Pagerank will naturally rise along with rankings.

Pagerank is one of around 200 factors the Google algorithm takes into account when ranking a web page. It is a numerical index rating pages from zero to ten, ten being the highest possible score. Pagerank is believed to be continuously updated by Google, however public approximations are able to be viewed in web browsers via the Google toolbar. These values are updated at irregular intervals, but usually around tri-monthly.

So let’s examine some factors that will improve SERP’s (Search Engine Ranking Positions) and Pagerank.
